Windows Chrome Installation / Uninstallation Tips

Do the following If you every need to do a force install of Chrome in Windows.

  1. Browse to C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\<Version Number>\Installer in Windows Explorer.
  2. Type in cmd in the address bar
  3. type setup.exe –uninstall –system-level –verbose-logging –force-uninstall at the command prompt
  4. Answer Yes to the prompt.
  5. Restart PC.

  If you want to prevent Chrome from upgrading do the following.

  1. Make sure all other  user is completely logged off.
  2. Run msconfig.
  3. From the services tab uncheck both services for Google update.
  4. Restart PC.
