Even though security is important sometimes you need to disable duo some work on a PC.
To disable do the following.
- Boot into Safe mode by holding down Shift while clicking on the restart button.
- Select Enable Safe Mode from the Advanced Options under Troubleshoot
- Type regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files\Duo Security\WindowsLogon\DuoCredFilter.dll” at an evaluated CMD
- Type regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files\Duo Security\WindowsLogon\DuoCredProv.dll” at an evaluated CMD
- Restart PC.
- Do what you need to do.
To Reenable Duo do the following:
- Restart again into Safe Mode.
- Type regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\Duo Security\WindowsLogon\DuoCredFilter.dll” at an evaluated CMD
- Type regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\Duo Security\WindowsLogon\DuoCredProv.dll” at an evaluated CMD
- Restart PC.
You can create a batch file for both disabling / enabling Duo that you can use in safe mode. I hope you find this article useful.
